Our Coaches
A Passionate Team
Nick founded Classic Gymnastics in 2021 out of a passion for helping adults learn the sport he loves so much. Nick started and learned gymnastics as an adult himself, so he has a unique perspective for what it takes to get a fully grown person through the sport. Nick combines his formal studies and practical experience on the floor to ensure he's always delivering safe and effective programs to his athletes. He specialises in injury prevention and rehab as well as biomechanics, so you can trust that you are in safe hands in his classes. Nick picked up coaching acro for dancers 6 years ago and has been teaching at several dance schools across the Northern Beaches since. He loves introducing dancers to the tricks they borrow from gymnastics and helping them learn and refine these movements. He finally started his own acro class in late 2024 to allow these dancers to practice in a fully kitted out gymnastics facility. The access to sprung equipment and safety matting ensures both safe and productive acro classes for the dancers to learn these challenging skills. Throughout the week, Nick can be found coaching WAG squads and working on his studies, and in his spare time he still keeps up with gymnastics training himself!
Nick's beautiful wife Ashley is both the brains AND the beauty behind Classic Gymnastics. Ashley also started gymnastics as an adult and met Nick at one of his adult classes at Falsegrip. As she started to acquire skills and push through barriers, she fell in love with the sport... and with Nick! They tied the knot in 2022, and she has since helped Nick grow Classic Gymnastics to the place that it is today. Ashley is our main assistant coach, bringing her on-floor experience as both a coach and a competitive athlete to assist people. She brings technical advice, performance tips and is a MUCH better demonstrator than Nick is. Ashley is still an actively competing gymnast and brings that experience of performing at competition to her coaching to ensure athletes are working to the best of their ability. Look out for her and her big smile on the floor at any one of our classes!
